I'll meet you where you are in your journey.
I live in Miami, but I help therapy clients all over Florida and Washington states via Telehealth.
Learn a little bit more about me:
About my expertise
Javonna first received her education at the University of Washington Seattle, on stolen Coast Salish land, specifically the ancestral land of the Duwamish, Suquamish, Stillaguamish, and Muckleshoot People, graduating in 2013 with her Bachelors of Arts in Drama Performance with a minor in Sociology. She worked professionally as a project manager, interior design project manager, nanny, development officer, and youth advocacy manager for a collective of 10 years. In 2019, she moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, Seminole and Taquesta land,  to complete her Masters of Science in Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University. She graduated with high honors for both of her degrees as well as was awarded capstone projects, scholarships, and even the Dean's Award for academic success paired with community commitment. She was the founding executive director of Boundless Arts Performance Collective, a nonprofit that worked with foster youth to develop and create their own plays. Once she finished her M.S. she interned with S.O.U.L. Sisters Leadership collective and continued on working for private practices such as 305 Psychotherapy Group, Resonant Relationships, and PNW Sex Therapy Collective. Currently, she runs her own private practice in Miami, FL, on occupied Seminole and Taquesta land, Javonna Arriaga LLC. She hopes to be certified as an AASECT Sex Therapist and Brainspotting Practitioner by the end of 2024. She gained her education for sex therapy with the CIIS Sex Therapy Certificate program. Javonna aims to radicalize her practice with liberatory practices that center intergenerational justice. She centers Liberatory, Narrative, Somatic and Decolonial frameworks as her main modalities and is often paired with Emotional Focused Therapy, Developmental Couples Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. All of her work centers anti-oppression, abolitionist and justice oriented models.
